Hello, I am Zoe Willingham owner/ founder of Best Behaviour Dog Training and Qualified behaviourist.
For those of you that don’t know me, I am a crazy animal person and I have dedicated my life to helping dogs and owners live happy lives together. With over 100 rescue animals of my own, 35 of them dogs I know first-hand what it is like to share your life with these amazing animals.
With shocking statistics showing that 664,000 dogs are rehomed every year and 600,000 puppies of the 2 million born every year will die before they reach their first birthday, with the primary cause of euthanasia due to behaviour, I knew it was time to lead the dog training industry into offering better training, better support and training that supports the science, as well as the emotional and enrichment needs of our dogs. Training our dogs is a journey not an event.
Offering lifelong puppy and dog training is a passion driven from a genuine desire to make a positive difference to dogs and owners lives.
I want pet owners have access to resources and guidance throughout their dog's entire life. Here's why it's beneficial:
Continued Education: Dogs, like humans, continue to learn and develop throughout their lives. Lifelong training programs allow owners to continually refresh their skills and learn new techniques to effectively communicate with and train their dogs.
Behavioural Support: Dogs may encounter new situations or develop behavioural issues as they age. Lifelong training programs provide ongoing support to address these issues and prevent them from becoming more severe.
Bonding and Relationship Building: Training is not just about obedience; it's also about building a strong bond and positive relationship between the owner and the dog. Lifelong training allows owners to continually strengthen this bond through positive reinforcement and communication.
Adaptation to Life Changes: Life circumstances can change, such as moving to a new home, bringing a new pet into the household, or having a baby. Lifelong training programs help owners and dogs adapt to these changes smoothly and maintain harmony within the family.
Health and Safety: Training isn't just about teaching commands; it also involves teaching dogs how to behave safely in various situations. Lifelong training ensures that dogs continue to understand and respond appropriately to cues that can keep them safe in different environments.
Community and Support: Lifelong training programs often build a community of like-minded individuals who can offer support, share experiences, and provide guidance to one another. This sense of community can be invaluable for both new and experienced dog owners.
